Why can’t they make THIS Peter Pan?

A few months ago I reported on the old Dork Tower about a planned adaptation of Stephen King’s greatest work, The Dark Tower. Ron Howard and the rest of the crew responsible for such hits as A Beautiful Mind have the rights, and their initial idea left me skeptical (a movie AND a TV show). Until today.

In an unprecedented, never-before-seen attempt to do the material justice, Howard will create a Lord of the Rings-like film trilogy as well as a television series. The twist is this:  there will be a film, then a season of the show that continues the story, and then another film picking up from there, and so on until Roland makes it to the field of roses and his ultimate goal.

There’s nothing left to say about it. Absolute genius.

There are a few things I want to note about this picture:

First, the kid looks like his parents are a Monchichi doll and those Chomp-Chomp ball-and-chain monsters from Super Mario Bros. (even note the Nintendo product placement on his shirt). This is the part that makes this picture the funniest thing I’ve seen in quite a while.

Second, the kid has piss running down his leg. This is the unfunny part of the picture.

Last, the cop in the background seems to be enjoying himself and the show. If only I could’ve been there… it must have been glorious.

Of course, if there’s a cop there, and that’s really piss running down the kid’s leg, they’re probably there because his parents are neglectful assclowns that just got popped for a meth lab. Which would explain a lot. It’s also a scary thought, because two things I would not want to be around while they’re jacked-up on crank is a Monchichi and a Chomp-Chomp…

I say this to people all the time, and get the same puzzled looks that Luna does.

The people who think “South Park” is nothing but a string of gratuitous cussing and nonsense obviously can’t see the underlying beauty in anything.

It looks like they’ve rectified the only thing I disliked about the first Arkham game (even though Harley’s character model WAS hot). WIN.

Now THIS is a version of “Scooby Doo” I’d watch.
